City descritpion

Puerto Limón is one of the oldest towns of Costa Rica and one of the country’s most important ports. Christoph Columbus was the first European to drop anchor in this area which is the reason why an annual fair with steel drum bands is held in the autumn to mark the occasion. The region of Limón is situated at the Caribbean coast and impresses with its lush vegetation. About 200 kilometers of coastline between Nicaragua and Panama are characterized by picturesque beaches lined with palm trees. Being one of the most varied areas of the country, the landscape of this tropical paradise includes mangrove wetlands as well as steep mountains. Limón is also one of the less-traveled regions of Costa Rica, so that you can find unspoiled prehistoric rain forests and a fascinating wildlife.
