City descritpion
Warnemünde is the most important cruise port in Germany. As the name implies, the city is situated at the estuary of the Warnow river. Once a small fishing village, Warnemünde has turned into a modern Baltic Sea resort where lovingly restored buildings alternate with miles of promenades. Numerous restaurants and maritime bars invite you to relax after a walk along the beach. The most famous landmark is the 31-meter-high lighthouse built in 1897 which is still in use. In the summer, you can climb the tower and enjoy a fantastic view of Warnemünde and the coast from the observation deck.
